Passivate

The Passivating process is designed to remove foreign metals, oxides, and corrosion from the surface of stainless and corrosion resistant steels and to promote the natural tendency of  the surface to oxidize. The passivating process does not change the appearance of the base metal. The passivating process purifies the surface and therefore improves corrosion resistance. Specification Comments QQ-P-35 C   Type II Medium temperature with sodium dichromate. Type VI Low temperature. Type VII Medium temperature. Type VIII Medium temperature with higher nitrc acid concentration.
